Witty Words with Classically Kasey

This weeks I had some witty words with Kasey from Classically Kasey! Kasey just started blogging and I wanted to share her with you all because even though her blog is relatively new, she really has some great posts! Make sure you check her out and learn more about her below!

For those who are not familiar with you and your blog, tell us a little about yourself.
I am 16 years old and I'm a sophomore in highschool. I am also a cheerleader for my highschool!

Why did you start Classically Kasey?
I have always loved looking at blogs and reading them but was reluctant on starting one myself. I finally decided I needed to do it, there is no better time than now! I just love clothes and picking out outfits and I wanted a way to share them with other people!

What beauty item can you NOT live without?
Mascara! I feel like it is the one item that can completely change the look of your face! My makeup look never looks complete without mascara.

What website can do you spend most of your time on? Why?
Probably Pinterest! It is where I get inspiration for everything! I'm redoing my room right now so I'm getting lots of ideas from Pinterest!

What is the main goal you have for your blog right now?
Right now I am just trying to get on a solid schedule of posting. I have so many ideas and plans but for me it's getting those ideas posted is what's hard!

Do you have a favorite quote? If so, what is it!
My favorite quote is either; "you are capable of wonderful things" or, "she believed she could, so she did!"

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself in my third year of college but I'm not really sure what I want to do in college yet! I would really love to start my own business someday!

Do you have any advice for someone that is wanting to start a blog?
Right now I am the person looking for advice. I have just started my blog and I'm still figuring it all out! But my main advice would be to post things that you enjoy talking about, it makes it much more fun!

Where can we find you on social media?

Just for fun- what's your favorite candy?!

I love all candies but kit kats or nerd ropes are probably my favorite

Thanks again Kasey! I had such a great time getting to know you. Now everybody else- quick go give Kasey a big virtual hug! Follow her accounts above and check out her blog! Also, let me know your favorite candy in the comments! I'm a fan of a lot of different candy. But if I had to choose just one (or two) it would be a tie between Twizzlers or Pretzel M&Ms!

cheers,
Sarah

Witty Words with Confessions of a Prepster

Today Jen and I had some witty words about her blog Confessions of a Prepster! I was so excited when Jen agreed to speak with me. Her blog is so cute and she posts great fashion and beauty tips, as well as posts about everyday living. Make sure you go check out Jen- you won't regret it!

Hi Jen! For those who are not familiar with you and your blog, could you tell us a little about yourself?
If you're new to CoaP, hi! I'm Jen, I'm a 16 year old from Connecticut who goes to a boarding school in Massachusetts where I'm a junior. My style can be labeled as evolving since in the past few years, it's done just that! I love shopping, spending time with my family, and (of course) blogging!

Why did you start Confessions of a Prepster?
I started Confessions of a Prepster because I needed a creative outlet! Between school, sports, and friends, I wanted something that I didn't have to think too much about and where I could just write about things I'm passionate about, like fashion and food.

Blogging can sometimes be hard. What has been the hardest part of having a blog?
The hardest part about having a blog is being consistent. I have a lot of trouble at school with such limited free time keeping up with my blog. But that's what's awesome about being able to scheduling posts and social media! Even if I can't post everyday, I try to Instagram at least once a day to make sure I'm not completely quiet.

You have such a great sense of style! If you could describe it in three words which would you use?
Chic. Simple. Comfortable.

Where is your favorite place to shop?
Club Monaco!

Do you have any goals for 2015?
My big resolution is to continue to evolve my style. I'm trying to keep my style from being super preppy and instead much more classic and timeless.

How do you balance running a blog, going to school, doing activities and staying social?
Like I said, it can be super tough! But I use free periods and weekends to write and schedule posts. I also make an effort to not be too hard on myself if I can't post more than once a week or not at all. I would rather write one, awesome post a week than five, subpar posts in a week.

Where do you hope to see yourself in 10 years?
I would love to be an accountant in DC, blogging on the side!

Do you have any advice for someone that is wanting to start a blog?
My advice would be to look for inspiration everywhere! I find inspiration in magazines, my friends, and even TV shows. Also remember to be yourself and be original! People are reading your blog to hear from you, no one else!

Where can we find you on social media?
My twitter is @cofaprepster, my pinterest is Jen Cavazuti, and my instagram is @confessionsofaprepster

Thanks again Jen! Loved chatting.

cheers,
Sarah

Witty Words with Polish and Pink Lemonade

This week I had witty words with Leah of Polish and Pink Lemonade! Leah's blog is so cute. She posts great DIYs, nail designs, and much more! I know you you just love Leah and Polish and Pink Lemonade- read below to find out more!

Welcome Leah! For those who are not familiar with you and your blog, could you tell us a little about yourself?
I'm a junior in high school from Upstate New York. I started Polish and Pink Lemonade in the spring of 2014, mainly as a spring break project. Since then it has grown into so much more. I like to blog about my life, my style, some DIY projects and everything in between. I love monograms, music and lattes.

What's been your greatest accomplishment blogging so far?
I think that my biggest accomplishment so far would definitely be finding a community of great, supportive bloggers to join on Google+, Bloggers With Class. My blogs first "birthday" is coming up soon, so that may take the cake. No pun intended :) I believe that big blogging moments don't always have to be hitting huge numbers of views or followers.

Where are your top three favorite places to go with your friends?
 1. The mall. People watching+clothes=a good day 2. Football games- my town is big on high school football and one of my friends is a varsity cheerleader, so it's always fun to go and watch with friends and see the whole community come together. 3. Amusement parks- over the summer, my friends and I love going to Six Flags. The rides and all the people make it so much fun

You say you love Youtube! Who are your favorite Youtubers?
Mikey Murphy, Connor Franta, Andrea Russett,Tanya Burr, Casey from Blogilates ( that's where I get all my workouts) and Troye Sivan. I've got a little bit of everything in there

Where do you find inspiration for your clothes?
Mostly all of my inspiration for my outfits comes from Pinterest, it's an addiction really. Other fashion blogs also give me some ideas. I think another great way to get fashion inspiration is to look at what your favorite celebrities are wearing or even just someone on the street. Seeing other people in an outfit can really help you visualize what it will look like on you and if you really like pieces when they're off the hanger.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In ten years I hope to have finished what ever college degree I decide on, hopefully living somewhere slightly warmer than where I am now, preferably by the ocean. Relationship wise, I don't necessarily see myself married just yet, but I do hope that I have found or am close to finding the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. I'm a hopeless romantic, I know. I'm not much of a person who thinks about the future very often because honestly it scares me. I prefer to live in the moment and focus on what I'm meant to be dealing with now.

Where is your favorite place to shop?
This is a hard one. I love J.Crew and vineyard vines but I also like Forever 21 and Target. I can find something I like almost any where.

Do you have any advice for someone that is wanting to start a blog?
I say just go for it! Don't worry about seeming like an experienced professional blogger that makes money off of all their posts because you're not, you're just starting out and that's okay. Don't be afraid to try out several different areas or names. Test until you find one you love and want to stick with. Then the rest will all flow naturally :)

Where can we find you on social media?
Well right now I'm working on setting up some awesome social media just for my blog
Right now I have my,
Google+:Leah C (Look for my lemon logo)
My Twitter/Instagram/Pinterest: Leah Clasen
Blog specific accounts coming soon :)

Just for fun, have you ever met someone famous?
Actually I have! Last summer I met AJR. They sing "I'm Ready" or as I like to call it, the Spongebob song. On Halloween this year I met Dan+Shay after a Hunter Hayes concert. A few years ago I met Chris Wallace at a free concert in the mall. You can check out picture of all of those on my Instagram!

Thanks so much Leah, I loved talking to you this week! Her blog really is the cutest! If you ever have time, make sure you check it out :)

cheers,
Sarah

Have you ever met someone that's famous? I have. I would love to hear your story in the comments below!

Witty Words with Northern Prepster

I was so excited to interview Riley from Northern Prepster for this week's Witty Words. Riley is super sweet and her blog is just adorable! I love her style and couldn't wait to hear what she had to say to the questions I asked her. I know you guys will just love Riley, read below to find out more about her!

Hi there Riley! For those who are not familiar with you and your blog, tell us a little about yourself.
I'm Riley and I run the blog Northern Prepster. Northern Prepster is a blog where I share anything from cookie recipes to health tips & tricks and everything in between. As for myself, I'm a typical high school sophomore who enjoys a good round of golf, anything monogrammed and everything pink & navy!

Why did you start Northern Prepster?
I started Northern Prepster almost a year ago while I was sitting at home on a snow day. I had just received my laptop for Christmas and I thought "wow, now that I have my own laptop I can take in everywhere with me and blog about everything!". So Northern Prepster was created and I wrote about anything and everything. After our long streak of snow days ended my motivation and willingness to update the blog diminished as school work was always a top priority. But as the work load increased so did the stress levels. That's when I began to use my blog as an outlet from school and now it's just a daily habit for me :)

Your style is so original, however we all follow some trends. What style trends have you been loving lately?
I LOVE vests. I seemed to have quite the collection in my closet. I love how versatile they are and how I can throw a vest on over a sweater to make it look like I put a lot of time and consideration into my outfit. I'm also loving the baseball hat trend. Being a golfer my collection of hats is quite large and I love the athletic vibe it can give to your outfit. Not to mention what a savior hats are on bad hair days ;)

What has been the hardest thing about running your blog?
I'll be honest, there's a lot that goes into running my blog. As I mentioned earlier, I'm in the middle of my high school career, member of the golf team, and learning to drive, eek! But the hardest thing, by far, is finding time to take the photos for the posts, sit down and write and edit the post and generate a image for social media sites to see. As much stress that goes into writing my posts, I still love it and wouldn't want to change a thing.

Describe yourself in three words
creative, organized, & outgoing

Where do you find inspiration for your blog?
Pinterest is my go-to place when I need help planning out my posts. Pinterest makes up about 50% of the inspiration and the other half comes from whatever life is throwing at me. If I have a big test coming up, there's more then likely going to be a post on test taking skills. It all depends on the day.

Do you have a favorite quote? If so what is it?
I love quotes, I tend to have multiple favorites because I'm constantly pinning new ones on Pinterest but there's one that I remind myself of everyday:
"Do what you feel in your heart to be right-- for you'll be criticized anyway" -Eleanor Roosevelt

This quote is what inspired me to keep blogging. It doesn't matter if people don't support my blog, as long as I'm happy doing it that's all that matters.

Where can we find you on social media?
Instagram: @northprepster
Pinterest: @rileycarp {this one is used more often} or @northprepster
Bloglovin': just search Northern Prepster

Just for fun- What's your favorite sundae topping?
Oh my cherries! Can't eat a sundae without 'em!

Thanks so much Riley for letting us get to know you! Make sure you go check Riley out on her blog and follow her on the social media accounts above!

cheers,
Sarah

Witty Words with Swirling Up

Today I am sharing some witty words that I had with Greta from Swirling Up! I have known Greta for a pretty long time actually. We went to the same high school, did theater together, and even were on the same dance team. She is so amazing and her blog is no different. Aside from blogging she also shares videos on her YouTube channel! See what Greta had to say below.

Hi Greta! For those who are not familiar with you and your blog, tell us a little about yourself.
Hello! My name is Greta and I'm a college freshman. I started blogging in 2012, and have only recently started to take it more seriously. I use my blog as a place to collect my thoughts, almost like a public online diary. I talk about preppy things, daily adventures, healthy lifestyle, etc.

How did you come up with the name Swirling Up?
It's a weird story, haha. I came up with the username SwirlingUp when I was in 6th grade. I had just watched an episode of the Amanda Show, the one with the Tilt-a-Hurl ride (featured here).  I started playing around with words. Swirl rhymed with "hurl" and eventually I came to the name SwirlingUp! (So yes...my blog name was actually inspired by Nickelodeon and vomit...hahaha.)

What's your favorite store to shop at?
I love J. Crew and J. Crew Factory. I also love this local consignment shop called Loralei's, where they sell new or gently used designer apparel.

If you could describe yourself in three words what would they be?
Goofy, Adventurist, Learner

What motivates you to keep blogging?
Definitely reading other blogs. If other girls my age can do it, why can't I? I also like to reread my old posts. It's interesting to see how much can change over the years, and it encourages me to keep on blogging and documenting.

How has being at college effected you as a blogger?
I had been doing pretty well at posting consistently over the summer. But once I moved to school, things changed. There was a period of time where I simply got too busy. Adjusting to college is hard. Even though I wish I had blogged more, I know I needed to spend that time meeting new people, studying, and getting acclimated. I also do not have a professional camera with me at college, or even WIFI. This makes it extremely time consuming to upload my low quality iPhone pictures to a blog post. Also, I sometimes get too embarrassed going outside and taking pictures for OOTD posts. Hopefully I will find more time second semester to dedicate to blogging!

How did you know your college was the right college for you?
I had visited the school when my older brother toured there years ago. I thought it was nice, but "I would never go there." Interesting how things change! It was almost by a process of elimination. All the other schools I was considering had something wrong about them. One day I sat on JMU's website and looked at all the majors and clubs I could be involved in. Through this, as well as touring the school, I got the vibe that the students were similar to me. It would be a place I would fit in. I never had a "step onto the campus and instantly know this is where you belong" moment that people talk about, but that's okay. It took me until the very last day to decide a school, but I am completely happy with my choice.

Do you have any advice for someone that is wanting to start a blog?
I would recommend using a clean format with a normal font. No fancy type curls or busy backgrounds. I would also write 5 to 10 different blog posts and schedule them to upload every couple of days before making your blog live. This way you have consistent content! Also, if you can, use a nice camera with a memory card. Pictures may look good on your iPhone, but once you transfer them online they can get fuzzy and blurry. I also have a note on my phone where I brainstorm blog post ideas. If I'm in a rut, I just use those. Also interact with others online, make some blogging friends, etc. Sign all of your comments with your name and blog. Etc. Good luck(:

Where can we find you on social media?
My blog is SwirlingUp.blogspot.com and my YouTube channel is https://www.youtube.com/user/SwirlingUp
My Instagram is @swirlingup and my Twitter is @swirlingup

Just for fun, what's your guilty pleasure Disney movie?
Call me lame, but I haven't actually seen that many Disney movies! When I was younger I loved The Aristocats and now I am completely obsessed with Frozen. I love Anna and all the songs she sings! And I love the snow :)

Thanks so much for letting me chat with you Greta! If you want to learn more about SwirlingUp and the girl behind it all go check out all of her social media accounts from question nine!

cheers,
Sarah

Leave a comment telling me your favorite Disney movie!

Witty Words with The College Life Stylist

Hi everyone!

With 2015 just starting off, I made myself a goal to start a new blog series. In staying committed to that goal I decided to start interviewing some of my favorite bloggers to help others get to know them better and maybe inspire people to start a blog of their own

To start things off I had the pleasure of interviewing Alexandria from The College Life Stylist. Earlier this week I shared the guest post I did for her. In return, I asked her if I could interview her!

Alex is a super talented college student who goes to school, blogs, and also offers discounted blog design for college students. Her blog is so helpful. If you ever need tips on school or college definitely check out what Alex has to say.

Hey Alex! For those who are not familiar with you and your blog, could you tell us a little about yourself?
I am a freshman, Marketing major and Women Studies minor, at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I have an obsession with planners, colorful markers, and hot chocolate

Why did you start The College Life Stylist?
I started The College Life Stylist as a way to potentially help high school, or other college students, and learn from other bloggers. A huge portion of my blog is dedicated to study aids, time management tips, organization help, and some advice to calm down some stressed out teens.

What has been you biggest accomplishment as a blogger so far?
My biggest accomplishment was in my first month. I never thought that I would get a lot, if any viewers, as a rookie blogger and I had almost 20,000 views in my first month alone! Every comment I get shows me that I’m helping somebody, and it’s so incredible knowing that what I’m saying is positively affecting even just one other person.

With the holidays just ended have you made any recent shopping splurges? If so, what did you buy?

I just celebrated my 18th birthday! So I went on a mini shopping spree. I didn’t buy one big item but I did get a few things I had been wanting including an oversized grey sweater from Nordstrom, a new book, and the fifth and sixth season of Sex and the City on DVD

What has your favorite color combination been recently?

I love neutrals. My outfits are almost always all neutral. And sometimes I’ll throw in a hint of gold or sparkle just to mix it up.

If you could live anywhere for a year, where would you live?

My life goal is to live in NYC, but I think I would live in Paris for a year. I’ve never taken French, and I know very little about the culture, but I’d love to just bring my camera, laptop and boyfriend and roam Paris for a year while taking pictures and wearing a beret!

Since you're a Freshman in college do you ever find it hard to balance your time and still continue to blog?
It definitely gets hard some days. But for me blogging is my outlet, my stress relief. I always plan out my posts every week on Sundays, but if I’m having a stressful week I usually cancel a post or substitute a scheduled one for a little rant of my own: where I usually talk about how I should be trying to relax.

Do you have any advice for someone who is wanting to start a blog?
Just do it. It’s the best decision I’ve made, and it opens so many more doors than you think. But if you’re going to do it make sure you have a good design. On the side I run a little digital design shop where I make blogs just as fabulous looking as their content. The business has shown me how important a design can be for the success of the blog.

Where can we find you on social media?

Twitter: @CLS_blog
Facebook/ Pinterest: The College Life Stylist
Instagram: @thecollegelifestylist

Just for fun- wedges of stilettos?
I love stilettos and I want to own a thousand of them, but I am definitely more of a wedges girl. They’re just so much more comfortable and versatile.

Thanks so much Alex for taking the time to answer these question! I loved hear what you had to say. Now everyone go give her some love on her social media accounts found above!

cheers,
Sarah

Are you more of a wedges or stilettos girl? Let me know in the comments below!
