Have a Great Week!

24 May 2015

Happy Weekend! (+Update!)

Whew. Happy Sunday to you all! And for me officially- Happy summer! It has been such a long and busy year, but an exciting one at least. If you are still in school- good luck, especially if you have upcoming exams. My only advice is to stop reading and start studying! But in all honesty, you will be fabulous and surely pass :)

Friday was a crazy day for me. I turned seventeen! I also went to the Zac Brown Band concert! Talk about a great time! It was so much fun to get to hang out with close friends and listen to their great music! Now I can't stop singing Homegrown! Too good.

In other exciting news- Thursday I will be in London. Eeeeep!! This is going to be my first time being officially out of the country and I cannot wait to put my passport to good use. I will also be going around France and stopping in Paris for the final days. I'm a little nervous for the plane ride (8 full hours- oh god) but know once I'm in Europe I will have the time of my life.

I've been getting some questions about my trip and here's what I have to say. First off I am going through my school and with a pretty good size group, so that means my teacher will be there and its going to be all tourism all the time! Second, my mom is coming with me which makes me really happy and we will sure have fun. The only thing is my mom doesn't know one word of French at all. Beside from bonjour. Which leads to my next point, I have been taking french class through all 3 years at high school and took it for two years in middle school as well as many different years in grade school. So, I fell like I'm pretty prepared for being able to speak and have had all the way up to French 4, but only really being there can we know!

So basically I'm in total preparation for my trip at this point, getting last minute things and packing my bag, and I have barely anytime to sit still, but I do plan on bringing along my camera and doing a huge trip report once I get back (June 8). Look forward for that! I will also not be able to get on social media during my trip so I will be offline starting Thursday! I cannot wait and I can't believe that I'm leaving so soon it feels like yesterday my mom agree to sign up and that was almost a year ago now. Wow! After all of that how about we get to some links I'm loving this weekend!

Happy Weekend!

(Happy Monday- I'm a little behind on posting this!)

It's May. Oh my. The last time I posted anything was in February! This break was crazy, but definitely one I needed to take. I've been so busy working on a bunch of different projects and going to school. It's hard to believe I'm going to be a senior in only a few weeks. But, with school coming to a close, that means summer! And summer means a whole lot more time to blog and keep you updated on whats going on. So to kick off more time and more blogging here's what I've been loving these past months!

{Eat}
Orange pancakes yum
These shocked me at first. But I'm really interested in trying to make them.
Long list of salads for the summer! they all look delicious.

Aww. Look how cute! I'm making these.
Perfect for hosting summer brunches!

{Shop}
Donuts. That is all.
From my parents for my birthday I am asking for a pair of real sunglasses! Can't decide between black or tortoise shell. Any thoughts?

{Inspire}
My summer Pinterest board has me dying for summer!
Not only is the first day of summer on my birthday, but so is the ZAC BROWN BAND CONCERT! If you need me I'll be singing this on repeat until the May 22 gets here.
I had so much fun designing this amazing girls blog. I love how it turned out!

cheers,
Sarah

Witty Words with Classically Kasey

This weeks I had some witty words with Kasey from Classically Kasey! Kasey just started blogging and I wanted to share her with you all because even though her blog is relatively new, she really has some great posts! Make sure you check her out and learn more about her below!

For those who are not familiar with you and your blog, tell us a little about yourself.
I am 16 years old and I'm a sophomore in highschool. I am also a cheerleader for my highschool!

Why did you start Classically Kasey?
I have always loved looking at blogs and reading them but was reluctant on starting one myself. I finally decided I needed to do it, there is no better time than now! I just love clothes and picking out outfits and I wanted a way to share them with other people!

What beauty item can you NOT live without?
Mascara! I feel like it is the one item that can completely change the look of your face! My makeup look never looks complete without mascara.

What website can do you spend most of your time on? Why?
Probably Pinterest! It is where I get inspiration for everything! I'm redoing my room right now so I'm getting lots of ideas from Pinterest!

What is the main goal you have for your blog right now?
Right now I am just trying to get on a solid schedule of posting. I have so many ideas and plans but for me it's getting those ideas posted is what's hard!

Do you have a favorite quote? If so, what is it!
My favorite quote is either; "you are capable of wonderful things" or, "she believed she could, so she did!"

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself in my third year of college but I'm not really sure what I want to do in college yet! I would really love to start my own business someday!

Do you have any advice for someone that is wanting to start a blog?
Right now I am the person looking for advice. I have just started my blog and I'm still figuring it all out! But my main advice would be to post things that you enjoy talking about, it makes it much more fun!

Where can we find you on social media?
Instagram -classicallykasey
Pinterest -Kaseybeth99
Twitter -kassseybeth
blog lovin- kaseybeth

Just for fun- what's your favorite candy?!

I love all candies but kit kats or nerd ropes are probably my favorite

Thanks again Kasey! I had such a great time getting to know you. Now everybody else- quick go give Kasey a big virtual hug! Follow her accounts above and check out her blog! Also, let me know your favorite candy in the comments! I'm a fan of a lot of different candy. But if I had to choose just one (or two) it would be a tie between Twizzlers or Pretzel M&Ms!

cheers,
Sarah

Witty Words with Confessions of a Prepster

Today Jen and I had some witty words about her blog Confessions of a Prepster! I was so excited when Jen agreed to speak with me. Her blog is so cute and she posts great fashion and beauty tips, as well as posts about everyday living. Make sure you go check out Jen- you won't regret it!

Hi Jen! For those who are not familiar with you and your blog, could you tell us a little about yourself?
If you're new to CoaP, hi! I'm Jen, I'm a 16 year old from Connecticut who goes to a boarding school in Massachusetts where I'm a junior. My style can be labeled as evolving since in the past few years, it's done just that! I love shopping, spending time with my family, and (of course) blogging!

Why did you start Confessions of a Prepster?
I started Confessions of a Prepster because I needed a creative outlet! Between school, sports, and friends, I wanted something that I didn't have to think too much about and where I could just write about things I'm passionate about, like fashion and food.

Blogging can sometimes be hard. What has been the hardest part of having a blog?
The hardest part about having a blog is being consistent. I have a lot of trouble at school with such limited free time keeping up with my blog. But that's what's awesome about being able to scheduling posts and social media! Even if I can't post everyday, I try to Instagram at least once a day to make sure I'm not completely quiet.

You have such a great sense of style! If you could describe it in three words which would you use?
Chic. Simple. Comfortable.

Where is your favorite place to shop?
Club Monaco!

Do you have any goals for 2015?
My big resolution is to continue to evolve my style. I'm trying to keep my style from being super preppy and instead much more classic and timeless.

How do you balance running a blog, going to school, doing activities and staying social?
Like I said, it can be super tough! But I use free periods and weekends to write and schedule posts. I also make an effort to not be too hard on myself if I can't post more than once a week or not at all. I would rather write one, awesome post a week than five, subpar posts in a week.

Where do you hope to see yourself in 10 years?
I would love to be an accountant in DC, blogging on the side!

Do you have any advice for someone that is wanting to start a blog?
My advice would be to look for inspiration everywhere! I find inspiration in magazines, my friends, and even TV shows. Also remember to be yourself and be original! People are reading your blog to hear from you, no one else!

Where can we find you on social media?
My twitter is @cofaprepster, my pinterest is Jen Cavazuti, and my instagram is @confessionsofaprepster

Thanks again Jen! Loved chatting.

cheers,
Sarah
